FACTORY AUDIT GUIDE · 2026

How to Evaluate a Solar Inverter Factory Before a Bulk Order

Use this checklist before placing a wholesale solar inverter order or approving a new factory for your distributor or EPC supply chain.

A factory audit is more useful when it is tied to your exact product and order—not just a tour of a building.

For an inverter purchase, the buyer should connect factory evidence to model identity, assembly, electrical checks, final QC, documentation and shipment readiness.

Before the Audit: Define the Product Scope

Send the exact model or required power range, target market, quantity and application. A factory cannot give a meaningful audit response if the buyer has not defined what product is being evaluated.

1. Check Production Visibility

Look for real work-in-process units, assembly fixtures, operators and staged products. Ask which steps are completed in-house and which are outsourced.

2. Inspect Electrical and Functional Testing

Ask which checks are performed on the selected model. The objective is to understand how a unit moves from assembly to test and final release.

3. Review Battery and Storage Production Separately

If the order includes LiFePO4 batteries, the battery process should be evaluated independently from the inverter process. Battery pack assembly, BMS-related work and final checks are distinct from inverter assembly.

4. Verify Model and Document Consistency

Compare the model on the quotation, product page and datasheet. Do not allow a bulk order to proceed based on an old catalog if the current confirmed product information has changed.

5. Confirm OEM Scope in Writing

Logo, label, packaging and manuals should be defined as a written scope. If configuration changes are requested, they should be confirmed for the exact model and order rather than treated as a generic OEM promise.

6. Check Final Packing and Shipment Readiness

Inspect carton condition, labeling, palletization or loading process as relevant to the shipment method. B2B buyers should also confirm the commercial document set with the supplier.
